Description: This workshop integrates the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics with clinical play therapy to help clinicians match brain-based interventions to children’s developmental needs. Through sensory-rich, relational, and multisensory play therapy techniques, participants will learn practical strategies to promote co-regulation and improve treatment outcomes for children impacted by trauma and developmental stressors.

Objectives:
Describe the sequence of engagement described by Dr. Bruce Perry and the relationship this has to play therapy treatment planning.
Describe how the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics supports play therapy treatment.
Identify at least 2 specific play therapy techniques for each dysregulated region of the brain described.
Apply how playful multisensory play activities promote resilience.
Describe the role of co-regulation on development.
Describe basic regions of the brain and how their functions manifest in symptoms and behavior in children in play therapy treatment.
