Innovative Integrations in Adult Sandtray
September 2-3, 2021; 8:30 am - 6 pm (snack/lunch breaks provided; lunch on your own)
This unique sand therapy training opportunity brings three therapists together to present on three different topics all under one unifying theme. As an expressive therapy, sandtray offers clients the chance to integrate their inner resources and painfully-held memories in an effective and efficient manner. There are many ways to think about the term “integration” from considering nervous system implications to merging clinical perspectives with new modalities to offering specific populations their own methods for making meaning during heartache. This 2-day event will touch on all of these areas as sandtray for adult clients is taught with special consideration to intentionally bringing other arts into sand work for maximum brain benefit, conceptualizing sandtray work from an Internal Family Systems perspective, and applying trauma-informed sand work to clients in a perinatal season of life. Each of the different trainers will take the lead in their areas of expertise with time also given to group-led experientials and panel discussion.
Sixteen CEs will be awarded at completion of the training.
Participants will discuss information from the relational neurosciences as it applies to sandtray therapy
Participants will be able to describe the intentional use of sandtray techniques while considering general expressive therapies’ theory
Participants will discuss case conceptualization tools using the expressive therapies continuum
Participants will apply techniques related to art, music, and poetry to sandtray therapy
