Emphasizing the AND in sANDtray:  Holding polarities in play therapy using attachment-focused sandtray processing

    Date: 2.25.19
Time: 8 pm - 9 pm (Central time)

Hours: One APT contact education hour can be earned for viewing this live webinar.

Description: Increasing relational security with play therapy clients requires that the therapist can effectively hold space for polarities. Frequently, clients bring play behaviors and themes that might feel incongruent to them, but attachment-focused play therapists honor these parts until the clients can make room for these extremes to peacefully coexist. This webinar will illustrate how play therapists can watch for, and eventually reconcile, polarities in sandtray work. The information covered will be easily transferable to other types of play therapy as well.

    Learning objectives:
    1. Discuss polarities in play therapy through an attachment theory lens
    2. Illustrate sandtray-focused play therapy skills that encourage dialogue between polarized parts
    3. Discuss how attachment-focused sandtray processing skills can generalize to other types of play therapy modalities

Registration information: The registration fee is $20 and the webinar platform is Zoom. A link will be sent for webinar access ahead of the event.

    Cancellation policy: Registration is non-refundable.

Presenter: Marshall Lyles, MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S, EMDRIA Approved Consultant
