Sandtray, Poetry & EMDR Processing in the Treatment of
    Attachment Wounds with Adults

    Date: November 16-18, 2022
    Time: 9 am - 5 pm (all days-Central time)

Hours: 12 education hours can be earned for attending this training as consistent with Texas Board requirements and EMDRIA CEs are available (EC Program Approval Number: #18012-16); 12 APT-approved direct contact education hours (sponsored by Marshall Lyles, APT Approved Provider 17-508) will be provided; 6 hours of the event are non-CE person-of-the-therapist work

Description: Sand-based creations and poetic practices have been healing agents across cultures and for generations. Both sand and poetry offer space within a therapeutic context where time can momentarily pause as different inner voices receive the attention they need to feel empowered. When empowered, different relationally-shaped parts share their perspectives on pain and the potential for repair. In this workshop, participants will enhance their work as clinicians by hearing about how the expressive arts and play therapy inherent to sandtray and poetry can been embraced by EMDR clinicians in the healing of attachment wounds. Completion of EMDR basic training is required. No sandtray or poetry experience is needed for this highly experiential workshop and participants should keep in mind that this work could create powerful emotional reactions. This three-day event includes 12 CEs and 6 hours of facilitated personal work for the person-of-the-therapist.
