Taking Perspective:  Conversations from Both Sides of the Supervision Relationship

    Explore the development of the supervision relationship through both perspectives for a holistic view of therapeutic supervision. Seasoned supervisor Marshall Lyles and his former supervisee Mandi Melendez share their inner experiences of supervision from both sides of the couch, from first meeting to post-licensure mentorship and beyond. Join us for a live case study of an optimal supervision relationship.

    Objectives:
    After the workshop, participants will be able to:
    1. Conceptualize supervision using attachment needs of the supervisee as a framework for optimal growth.
    2. Communicate the needs of both supervisors and supervisees throughout the lifespan of the relationship.
    3. Name three objectives for selecting appropriate supervisees.
    4. Identify sensitive moments in the development of the supervision relationship and describe three actionable supports.
    5. Demonstrate ethical documentation of supervision.
    6. Address issues of diversity effectively within the supervision relationship.
