​It’s hard to discern shade from shadow
Both depend on light for life
Neither live there
Both have much to offer
Neither is constant
I cast my own shadow
I rest in the shade of another
 
Nature’s wisdom requires connection
For reprieve from light
Light is not the enemy
And dark is not to be feared
Find rest in another’s shade
Make peace with your shadow
Dip a toe in the light when ready
